EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR
- Location: Paynesville Child Care at Paynesville Neighbourhood Centre, 55 The Esplanade, Paynesville VIC 3880
- Permanent Part Time - 3 or 4 days per week negotiable. 9 hour day less breaks. Monthly after-hours team meeting.
- Cert III or Diploma Qualified applicants invited to apply, hourly rate negotiable based on qualification and experience
- Remuneration and other conditions: Per the Child Services Award between Level 3 ($27.17) for a newly qualified Cert III, to Level 4 ($32.00) per hour plus superannuation, paid pro rata.

Are you our Early Childhood Educator?
We are seeking an experienced, Certificate III (or Diploma) qualified, early childhood professional who shares our dedication to childcare excellence.
Our ideal Educator is equipped with the experience, understanding and capacity to confidently apply the National Qualifications Framework to suitable learning programs at PCC, that empower our children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
You will be responsible for the supervision of children and working as part of our team to ensure a safe, enjoyable and effective experience for all involved. This includes proactive compliance with applicable regulation and child safety reporting requirements.
The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of our team, enjoy autonomy and diversity in every day, and flourish in the evolving and differing needs of our children, families and community. Our team has a wealth of knowledge and looks forward to the opportunity to welcome another enthusiastic educational professional to the team.
The Early Childhood Educator role will encompass the duties and responsibilities detailed in line with the principles, practices and outcomes detailed in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Victorian Early Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), and the National Quality Framework Areas (NQF), Standards and Elements.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
To help us consider your application, it would be valuable if you can speak to your experience in relation to our Key Selection Criteria in your Cover Letter or Application.
- Certificate III or Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education or Community Services (Children’s Services), current First Aid Certificate and evidence of Mandatory Reporting Training in the last 12 months
- Experience working with children, in an early childhood education setting and/or in an equivalent position
- Availability preferably between 8.00 AM and 4.30 PM, at least 3 days per week, to work on site at our Paynesville location. Own transport or independant, reliable transport arrangements required.
- An understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and the National Learning Framework (EYLF)
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.

This position has the following specific requirements as a condition of appointment:
- Applicants must be Australian Citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid work permit or visa

Paynesville Neighbourhood Centre (PNC) is a not for profit incorporated association located in the heart of the Gippsland Lakes (East Gippsland). PNC provides a range of social and recreational activities, child care, and adult education classes in a welcoming, friendly and relaxed environment. PNC is a member of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria, and is a Learn Local Provider.
Our dedicated Paynesville Child Care centre offers a range of permanent and/or casual child care places depending on the needs of individual families and the wider community.
Our hours of operation are currently Monday through Thursday 8.30am to 4.00pm. With closure on public holidays and over the Christmas and New Years period.
