About Latrobe Valley Enterprises

Latrobe Valley Enterprises (LVE) is a registered charity, not-for-profit social enterprise based in Morwell. For more than 50 years, LVE has combined sound commercial business practice with a strong commitment to creating meaningful employment for people with disability, across business units including recycling, sign making, grounds maintenance and more. As both a charity and a social enterprise, commercial success is more than a financial outcome, it's what allows LVE to keep investing in people and community.

The Opportunity

At Latrobe Valley Enterprises, every financial decision has the potential to strengthen the organisation and create more meaningful employment for people with disability. The Finance & Commercial Leader plays a central role in making that happen.

This is more than a finance role. Some days will involve Board reporting, forecasting or shaping pricing and contract decisions with the Executive Leadership Team. Other days might mean helping resolve a payroll issue or supporting a supervisor through the recent move to Employment Hero and Xero. You'll be equally comfortable presenting commercial opportunities and improvements to the Board as you are troubleshooting a system issue with the finance team.

Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, you'll lead financial stewardship, commercial performance and governance for LVE, while staying connected to the day-to-day realities of the business.

As Finance & Commercial Leader, you will:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, keeping the Board and Executive Leadership Team well informed
  • Analyse the commercial performance of LVE's business units and contracts, bringing practical recommendations to pricing, margins, improvement and growth decisions
  • Build a trusted partnership with the CEO and Board, presenting financial information clearly and confidently
  • Lead financial governance, audit and risk, and continue embedding LVE's finance and payroll systems following its recent transition to Employment Hero and Xero
  • Lead and develop a small, capable finance team

About You

  • Strong financial management capability at an executive level, with relevant tertiary or professional qualifications regarded highly but not mandatory
  • Confident presenting financial information and advice to a Board or senior leadership group
  • Practical and approachable, comfortable moving between strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving
  • Experience in a charity, not-for-profit, social enterprise, NDIS or other regulated, audit-focused environment is highly valued

Why Join Us?

  • Genuine Executive Leadership Team role, working directly alongside the CEO and Board
  • Flexible working arrangements, including part time (0.8) or hybrid options considered
  • Not-for-profit salary packaging on top of your base salary
  • Real influence over LVE's financial future, and a direct line to jobs created for people with disability

Employment Requirements

  • Current unrestricted Victorian driver licence
  • National Police Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check, if required for the role
  • Valid Australian working rights
