We’re seeking a passionate Community and Projects Manager (0.6 FTE) to help us lead volunteer experiences, programs, events, and partnerships that make a real impact across Gippsland.
Flexible, values-led, and deeply rewarding — this is a chance to lead with heart and purpose.
About Us
Gippsland Pride Initiative Inc. is a community-controlled, volunteer-led charity celebrating, supporting, and advocating for LGBTQIA+ communities across Gippsland.
We create opportunities for connection, empowerment, and inclusion through events, referral pathways, partnerships, and advocacy - from Pride Festivals and Pride Gala, to outreach, community capacity-building and visibility initiatives.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a skilled, community-minded professional to help bring structure, energy, and leadership to our growing organisation.
As our Community and Projects Manager, you’ll oversee Gippsland Pride’s day-to-day operations, volunteers, projects, and partnerships - ensuring programs run smoothly, inclusively, and sustainably.
Reporting to the Volunteer Committee, in this hands-on leadership role you’ll have autonomy to deliver meaningful work while being part of a supportive, purpose-driven team.
What You’ll Do - in collaboration with the Committee.
- Coordinate events, programs, and community projects across Gippsland.
- Oversee administration, compliance, budgets, and reporting (SCHADS Level 7).
- Manage and support volunteers — building capacity and ensuring inclusion.
- Represent Gippsland Pride at community, partner, and media events.
- Strengthen our advocacy through partnerships and engagement.
About You
You’re organised, proactive, and community-focused - equally comfortable managing logistics as you are leading people and partnerships.
You bring:
- Leadership experience in community or not-for-profit settings.
- Strong project management, administration and event coordination skills.
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively.
- Excellent communication, administration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Passion for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and regional community development, lived experience highly regarded.
Highly regarded:
- Knowledge of Gippsland’s local networks and services.
- Experience in governance or charity compliance.
What We Offer:
- 0.6 FTE (3 days/week) flexible role — hybrid between home and Trafalgar Hub.
- SCHADS Level 7 ($60.27/hr + 12% super).
- Up to 2-year contract, subject to funding.
- Professional development opportunities (child safety, inclusion, cultural safety, MHFA).
- A supportive, inclusive team making a tangible difference in regional Victoria.
